illustrationdepot.com was formed in 2006. It is the result of some casual discussions among members of the Boca Raton Camera Club, in Boca Raton, Florida.
We saw that an enormous quantity of outstanding photography was going to waste. There are camera clubs all over the country which have members who were professional photographers before they retired, or advanced amateurs or gifted young beginners who are not only producing new works of supurb quality but may also have archives of negatives and slides of past work that need to be opened to the world.
It is our intention to invite all such artists to use this, our new website, to submit their work to the advertising and publishing industries as downloadable digital stock photography and to individuals as salon quality prints, signed by the photographers who made them.
We will also act as broker for photographers who prefer not to be involved in the day to day processing of orders. In those cases, we will be the repository for the transparencies and digital files of the photographs and will fulfill any orders. The name of the photographer will not be listed for these photographs and they will be signed by the photographer on our staff who processed the order.
We will offer this body of work at modest prices.
Because we are doing this out of love for our art and not as a purely commercial enterprise, the scanning and posting of photographs will be a slow process. If you are looking for a photograph depicting a subject not yet listed, please contact us and ask. We have many thousands of photographs which will be posted steadily but slowly for a long time.
